DeGrazia Receives an "A" Letter Grade
The Arizona Department of Education has released A-F School Letter Grades scores based on data from the 2022-23 school year and DeGrazia Elementary School received an A Letter Grade.
We worked very hard again last year to give every student what they needed each and every day. To say that we are honored to receive an A for the second year in a row…is an understatement!Tawnya Caldwell, principal
“DeGrazia’s staff and students were so pleased last year to have earned an A letter grade from the State of Arizona! We used that momentum to continue to push us. We worked very hard again last year to give every student what they needed each and every day. To say that we are honored to receive an A for the second year in a row…is an understatement! It’s very validating to know that what we are doing is working for our students! There are several factors that lead to a successful school, and I believe that DeGrazia is successful because of all of these:
- Our families send us the very best children every day! Parents value what we do at our school and support us in our endeavors!
- Our staff works extremely hard every day! They collaborate, work on their own outside of school hours, and give their all in front of students at all times!
- The culture we have created and offer to our students is a sense of home with a loving environment. Because students feel comfortable here, they work hard for their teachers.
We are a very proud Dust Devil staff and cannot wait to celebrate once again with our students!”

About State Letter Grades
School letter grades are determined using a formula that weighs a range of academic measures, including year-to-year student academic growth, proficiency in English language arts, math and science, the proficiency and academic growth of English language learners, attendance, special education metrics, high school dropout and graduation rates, as well as indicators that high school students are ready to succeed in a career or higher education.
